The Trails at Scottsdale is a 172 home peaceful cul-d-sac pocket neighborhood community of unique single family homes developed by W. R Grace from 1977 through 1979, built for the executives and managers relocating when the Motorola (now General Dynamics) facility was built.

The Trails at Scottsdale is located at the south eastern end of Scottsdale. Nearby is Indian Bend Wash Greenbelt and Vista del Camino Park, one of the larger Scottsdale parks. Vista del Camino Park covering 71-acres featuring amenities such as a disc golf course, grass and sand volleyball courts, a Community Center, and two lakes.
The Trails at Scottsdale is a few minutes from the shopping centers in the north Mesa / Tempe area. Less than 10 minutes away is Tempe Marketplace which features a Harkins Theatre, Dave and Buster's, a Barnes and Noble and most popular retailers. This shopping center is also great for lunch and includes a Red Robin, Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que.
Long before the subdivision was developed, there were horse trails all through this area made by the Native Americans. Occasionally you may see equestrians riding in the early morning.
